Day of the Dead Art Dolls

The image of La Calavera Catrina has come to symbolize the Mexican Day of the Dead. It's interesting to me because the image was first created and popularized in the early 1900s. (You can read about it at the link.) Today, she is the symbol of the holiday and death, and we would be lost without her.

Liene Berzina (Alicante, Spain) has created a series of Day of the Dead, dark art dolls and brooches that are inspired by Catrina. The dolls are elegant and commanding. You'll find them at Lelleco Shop.
