Staying Dark in the Summer: Unfit Fashion

I don't post many clothing shops here, but every once in a while a t-shirt catches my eye and I want to share the shop with you. Unfit Fashion has a ribcage t-shirt that I fancy and really the entire shop is fun for those of us who keep it dark- even in summer. The shop carries men's and women's clothing.

Floral Flouroscopy Ribcage T-shirt
Lunatic T-shirt
"Ribstrument" Dress
Pineapple Skull T-shirt
All Seeing Eye Illuminati Baseball Cap
Melting Waxing Moon Baseball Cap
We haven't put in our air conditioner units yet (it is New England after all) and I'm melting like that moon.

Porcelain Oddities: Wrong World Ceramics

I've been on a pottery kick lately since I realized that my collection is lacking in that medium. When I saw Chase Brown's irreverent flasks, well, I had to share them with you. Chase calls his work "a self depreciating view on this stupid world." I'm showing you the more macabre pieces, but you should take a look at his shop to see the political statements if that's your thing. The shop is Wrong World Ceramics.

Skull Flask
Unholy Water Flask
All Seeing Eye Flask
Cone Incense Skull Burner
Skull Flask
Skull Decanter
Oh, how to choose! I love all of these pieces.

Tiny Terrors Tuesday: Laboratorio di Manu

Miniatures are taking over the world! That may be an exaggeration, but miniatures are definitely having their day (night?) in the Halloween community. Can't own a real haunted house? Well, maybe it's time to create a tiny one. Laboratorio de Manu is a shop in Italy creating tiny terrors that are perfect for your next dollhouse.

Witch Book and Glass Sphere
Gothic Bookcase
Halloween Table
Miniature Witch Dresser
Potions Cabinet
Astrology & Zodiac Papers
Many of these pieces would be fantastic in a little witch cottage.

Ceramics for the Night Shift: Anayansi Artworks

Why aren't there more words in the English language to describe spooky things? I keep a list, but most of them have an evil or negative slant and I don't think all spooky things are evil. Something needs to be done about this. Can we start a petition?

The ceramic mugs and plates made by Anayansi Jones are so much more than spooky. They're a little dark, some might say macabre, but I don't think so. You'll see skulls and anatomical hearts, but that's just our beautiful bodies, so how to describe her work? Looking at it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, but if I titled this blog post "Warm & Fuzzy Ceramics," I think some may find that misleading. More words please. (I think this might be a job for the  Samhain Society) The shop is Anayansi Artworks.

Anatomical Heart Mugs
Carved Skull Planters
Moon Cauldron Mug
Small Carved Skull Box
Sailor Moon Mug "Sailor Venus"
Pink Ceramic Moon Trinket Dish
So how would you describe these pieces? I'm so tired of describing things as "spooky," "macabre," and "magical."

Sculptures En Papier: Chloé Rémiat

It's been three years since I posted about Chloé Rémiat's paper maché Halloween sculptures! Where does the time go? These sculptures definitely fit in the whimspookal category with lots of tiny, friendly witches and creatures made from paper. They're adorable (said with a French accent.)

Bat Girl in Pumpkin
Siamese Red Riding Hood & Wolf Figure
Elerinna Witch
Catrina Sculpture
Wood Witch
Diablotin
I love that bat girl in the pumpkin!

Spooky Art: Melissa Kojima

I first saw Melissa Kojima's art on Instagram and loved her whimspookal drawings. Her art has a touch of the Gothic and Victorian-sensibility to it and she recently posted some one-of-a-kind paper cutouts that I love. There are also stickers, totes, and t-shirts available. Her shop is Art from the Strange Land of Beelaugeen. Take a look.

Paper Witch Dioramas
Paper Witch & Spider Diorama
Witch Head Wall Hanging
Who's Ghosting Who T-shirt
Headless Ghost Girl Print
Ghost Swarm Haunted House Print
Gentleman Skull Paper Puppet
This is just a small sample of the fun things you'll find in the Strange Land of Beelaungeen.

Tiny Terrors Tuesday: Raptoor

Spooky miniatures are a new passion of mine. I've been surprised at how many Facebook groups there are devoted to the subject. Of course, I join them all and that is how I found Raptoor. Angela Kinnunen makes dark miniatures in a variety of scales. Some as small as 1/48th (quarter scale)- that's tiny, my friends. They would be perfect as a dollhouse within a dollhouse. You're going to love them all.

1/48th Scale Halloween Chest
1/48th Scale Quillotine (just over 2" tall!)
1/24th Scale Pillory Stocks
1/12 Scale Bats in Tree Gate
1/48th Scale Web Wall Surround
1/24th Scale Gothic Windows
Some of these pieces can be made in other scales if you contact the shop- which is full of pieces as awesome as these. I hope you're as inspired as I am!
