Everlasting Halloween Jack O'Lanterns: Gourds Galore By Mary

If you don't have at least one dried gourd jack o'lantern, you're missing out. They're perfect for Halloween decor inside your home because you don't have to worry about them attracting fruit flies, rotting, and ruining the table you set them on. I've purchased many over the years and my collection of them is growing. Gourds Galore by Mary has lots of fun designs and some are painted.

The shape of the gourd gives so much character to each jack o'lantern. I think I may need to add one of these to my collection.

Fairy Tale Art Dolls: Chertopoloh Arts

You know I can't resist a dark and mysterious art doll and when it's made in Siberia, well, that just adds to the mystique. Anastasia is the artist behind Chertopoloh Arts and her art dolls belong in an ancient fairy tale. Each doll is hand sculpted from clay- no molds are used, and they stand about 14 inches tall and are posable.

The dolls are made to order and may appear slightly different than the photos, but that makes them all the more special.

Some Witchy Fashion: Cory Benhatzel

Cory Benhatzel's t-shirt designs are absolutely perfect for the summer witch. Elements from nature and witchcraft combined with an elegant touch make for some beautiful work.  Benhatzel also makes pins and jewelry and you'll find it all in her shop Häxa (Swedish for witch) on Etsy.

Grotesque Ceramics: Art by Ramiro Diaz

A grotesque and creepy mug or shot glass may be just what I need. I'm confident that I have the evil stare down to go with it. Does it matter that my coffee is half cream and sugar or that I have Limoncello in my shot glass? I dare you to say something about it. Sorry, I haven't had sugary coffee yet.

The ceramics by Ramiro Diaz are just creepy enough to kick-start my day. What? You don't drink Limoncello like orange juice? Diaz also has some great prints in his shop. (I really do love these by the way.)

Why haven't I had my coffee yet? Because I was in a fog this morning and locked myself out of the house when I went to feed the birds. Hmph.

Evil Fairy Tale Prints: Mosschester Market

When I first looked at the prints from D. Jeffrey, I thought they were woodcuts. Wrong! They're mock woodcuts, which is kind of funny. I love the rich colors in these prints and they look like they could be vintage illustrations in a long lost book of strange fairy tales. D. Jeffrey is the head designer for Vardagen- a screen print shop in California. While I like the t-shirts at Vardagen, it's Jeffrey's spookier work at Mosschester Market which really interests me. These illustrations are from a Halloween Drawlloween 2019 project.

These also remind me of some early 1970s cartoons for some reason. I can just see myself hiding behind the armchair in our den while I watched these scary scenes on our television. You'll also find some pins and stickers at Mosschester Market as well, so take a look.

Tiny Terrors Tuesday: The Petite Provisions Co.

Erika Pitera has my dream life. She lives in a house she and her husband designed with an art studio where she creates perfectly detailed miniatures. Pitera specializes in miniature foods and accessories for the serious collector and has something for every season and holiday. She is so exact that she has three different categories for the things we love: curiosities, Halloween, and Fall. If you have some time, you should visit her entire website The Petite Provisions Co. because she has a blog with tutorials and hundreds of tiny terrors.

I just drool whenever I look at Pitera's website. Can you imagine the dollhouses she must have?

Simple Symbols of Spooky: Michelle Chang Jewelry

I've highlighted Michelle Chang Jewelry in past posts, but I really do love the pieces. I had a tiny skull ring that I wore on my pinkie finger for several years before I lost it. I'm still sad about it and can't decide if I want the same ring again or one with tiny diamonds in it. What I like about Chang's jewelry is the simplicity. They're tiny pieces without much detail, but they speak volumes to me. Not all of her pieces have a spooky flair, but there are enough for me to know she is one of us.

Baby Skull Ring with Diamonds

Open Mouth Snake Ring with Diamond

Baby Skull Bangle

Skull Necklace (50% off!)

Mismatched Tiny Snake Earrings

Tiny Spider Dangle Necklace

Now I'm thinking I might want the bangle bracelet! Oh dear. The other thing I love about these pieces is that they are simple and refined enough to wear everyday as a signature piece. Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.

Vegan Taxidermy: Sutured Specimens

If you're a little squeamish about the thought of taxidermy, you might actually love the stuffed animals made by Beth Hart. She calls them vegan taxidermy because they're made of fabric instead of of skin. I absolutely love her work. There is mixture of science and humor in her pieces that hit just the right spot. Hart's shop is Sutured Specimens.

Rat Skeleton, Rattus Rattus

Sewn Two-Headed Deer Skull

Sewn Bird Skull

Fabric Anatomical Heart "I Endure You"

Tooth Faerie Skeleton

Sewn Human Skull

If you like the anatomical heart there are others with creepy sayings in the shop too. I'm not sure I know which one I love the most!
