Bewitching Stirling Silver Charms

I love to layer necklaces with different charms, and Mari Corrigan has created a line of bewitching pendants using the lost wax hand-cast process. The charms are sterling silver and beautifully detailed.  Corrigan has pieces for pagans and lovers of all things magical. The shop is Cascade Sterling.

Casual Witch Hats for Day-to-Day Living

Sometimes your silk witch hat is too much for grocery shopping day. And wearing your fancy wizard hat to the kid's baseball game just feels elitist. I introduce to you casual witch and wizard hats. It's both for when you want to be casual and for people who only occasionally want to be seen as a magical.

I jest of course, but the hats being created by Lee Jason Friend are not your average witch and wizard hats. Friend crafts them from fabrics like denim, corduroy, and reclaimed fabrics then he embroiders and beads them to make them special. There are also some fancy witch hats if you're needing one of those.

The shop is The Mystic Realm.

I think these hats would be great for sun protection while gardening or at the pool. Your neighbors will be jealous.

Shadowbox Horror Icons

Shadowboxes were once a popular Victorian way to display collectables. We don't make them so much anymore, but they're perfect for lovers of Halloween! After all, the word "shadow" is in the name. Christine, known as Creepy Christine, is making shadowboxes that are tributes to all our favorite horror icons. Christine is an illustrator and her boxes feature wonderful drawings.

If you're looking for something new for your devilish decor, her shop is Cabinet of Curiosities by Creepy Christine (Toronto, ON).

Christine also has necklaces in her shop that feature her illustrations. Hang one of these shadowboxes over your desk to inspire you. Follow Christine on Facebook (so evil these days) to see what she is working on.

Goth Home Tour: Staffordshire, England

The Dining Room

The dining room was entirely influenced by the Halloween Open House which is something we've done for the last three years. I decorate the ground floor of our home and invite the local Trick or Treaters inside to collect their sweets and to share in my Halloween obsession. People definitely seem to like it; we estimate around 300 people came to visit us last year! (In case you're wondering, the wall colour is Carriage Wheel by Valspar.)

I want to thank Sue for allowing us to tour her dining room. It's stunning! If you'd like to see more of her style, you need to follow her blog Suzy H at OneandSeventy. She has great home DIY projects for Halloween and other times of the year as well.  Make sure you're also following her Facebook page and don't forget Instagram and Twitter

If you'd like to show us your Goth Home, send me a message on the Shivers of Delight Facebook page. You're welcome to share an entire room or or just a corner that displays your Goth decor. This is your opportunity to bask in the moonlight.

The Goth Home Tour

Goth Decor, Gothic Interiors

I'm starting a new feature on Shivers of Delight called the Goth Home Tour. I'm inviting you, my lovely readers, to share a space in your home that showcases your spooky style all year long. I want to see all the ways that you honor your dark side beyond once-a-year Halloween decorations.

To be clear, dark is not necessarily evil- it may be a style others consider macabre or unnatural or scary.  It may be mystical, otherworldly, or gothic in design. Perhaps, it's your amazing Halloween collection that never makes it back to storage.

I hope to bring you a guest tour at least once a month- more often if I have enough interest.

Tomorrow will be our first tour and I'll be featuring the dining room of a fellow blogger from The World of Suzy Homemaker.  I'm so excited to be able to show you Suzy's style and introduce you to her blog if you're unaware of it.

Shiver of Delight features delightful dark art, devilish decor, and wicked fashion for you to discover and incorporate into your life- now I want to see how you use it. Inspire us!

If you'd like to be a guest feature, send me a message on the Shivers of Delight Facebook page (there is a message button on the top right side of the page) and I'll send you some instructions. You're welcome to share an entire room or just a corner that displays your goth decor.  This is your opportunity to bask in the moonlight.

Halloween Illustrations!

I did it!! I found a Halloween connoisseur that shares my birthday. I know that means absolutely nothing to you, but it makes me happy. Michelle Prebich, who was born on the perfect day, works in the film industry by day and makes spooky drawings by night. Some of her drawings are also available as pins and I love them. Her shop is Bat In Your Belfry.

What is it with the film industry and all these great Halloween artists? The film industry must either pay people horribly or not keep them busy.

Bloodless Paper Cuts

The art of paper cutting is something that has always interested me and I love looking at the delicate pieces made in the tradition of German Scherenschnitte. But what, I ask, is more fitting for cuts in black paper than spooky scenes?

Will Pigg (Orlando, FL) is an artist who excels in haunting scenes.  He has worked in film and stop motion animation and seems to love to cut things. You can find his pieces at willpigg.

Goodbye Lil' Cerberus
Lock, Stock, and Barrel
Maleficent
Freddy Krueger
Deathly Hallows
Jack and Sally

If you feel the need to get out your X-Acto blade, it's probably just safer to let Pigg make your favorite horror scene. Don't hurt yourself.

Hug A Skeleton

Even skeletons need a hug every once in awhile. Tara Fortin (Ottawa, ON) is making plush skeletons, bats, ghosts, and cats for people with dark edges. I think they're adorable. Her shop is blacklilypie.

These would be perfect to hold onto while you're watching a horror movie- a little comfort for the really scary parts.

Monster Accessories

As soon as I saw these arm braces from Wayward Leather Design (Lehighton, PA) I realized I wanted to be a slayer...or at least look like one. These one-of-a-kind leather accessories are fantastic! Of course, I can't even slay a stink bug, so I guess I'll have to settle for looking like a slayer and using one of Wayward Leather's awesome monster bags to carry my bandaids and inhaler.
