Bert & Bud's Custom Coffins

If I were considering the purchase of a coffin or urn, I wouldn't hesitate to put Bert & Bud's Vintage Coffins high on my list. I like the combination of folksy and hand-crafted high quality they offer. Roy "Bud" Davis has been making "fine funeral boxes since 1993" in Murray, Kentucky.

With a Master's Degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, Davis has worked as an arts & humanities teacher, museum administrator, and exhibited his own art. It wasn't until the death of his sister when he started making miniature coffins as a way to save family memorabilia that he contemplated making a full size coffin for himself. The rest, they say, is history.

Why vintage coffins? Well, Davis models most of his coffins on the traditional "toe-pincher" style. The urns he creates are really fun. I could see having a few of these around the house. Make sure you check out the Queen Bee urn. Fabulous!

If you're not quite ready for a coffin, you might consider the etagere.

The urns are my favorite; they're creative and lively (for someone who is dead.) These are custom made examples for pets and people.
