Macabre Mix Monday: Dark Christmas

I don't know about you, but I spent the weekend shopping. Most of it was online as I didn't want to travel far from home to visit crowded shops. After a day spent on the computer, I was filled with thoughts of a dark Christmas. Here are some of those thoughts. Krampus Doll from Tiny Pets and People Sweet Tooth Molar from N2Hookin Quilted Christmas Plague Doctor Mask from RadnRockinLocks Plush Santa Plague Doctor Doll from Geeky Gift Lady Evil Santa Costume from Brain Chow Studios Krampus Tote Bag from EliotTS It's not all bad. I did get a good portion of my Christmas shopping finished.

Black Friday Equals Black Plague: Sheldon Pewter

It's been a Shivers of Delight tradition to highlight some Black Plague decor and fashion on Black Friday. When I started this I never in a million years would have imagined we'd be living it. But, here we are and I'm not stopping now. On this Black Friday I'm featuring some pewter ornaments from Sheldon Pewter made by Darryl Sheldon. Besides some wonderful plague doctor ornaments to commemorate the year, there are other haunting pieces and jewelry to decorate your dark Christmas. Plague Doctor in Santa Hat Ornament Plague Doctor Pin Flying Monkey Ornament Death or Glory Pin Raven Ornament Dragon Ornaments Doesn't everyone on your Christmas list deserve a plague doctor ornament? There are also plague doctor earrings and necklaces in the shop.

Folk Art Inspired Halloween: Farm and Foundry

Kaleen Zerbe's work is so charming! She and her husband own Farm and Foundry - their shop where you'll find wonderful folk art inspired Halloween pieces. I like all the grinning faces on the figures. You'll even find some spooky looking snowmen. Halloween Bucket Lanterns Halloween Cat Bucket with Light Jack-o'-lantern Bucket Dark Christmas Snowman Small Pumpkin and Ghost Lanterns I'll be watching this shop to see what other dark Christmas offerings will appear.

Tiny Terrors Tuesday: Bird's Wood Shack

I thought I'd feature some miniature houses today in case you're feeling like you want to create your own spooky doll house. The kits from Bird's Wood Shack are made by Nathan Bird. They're laser cut from Baltic Birch Plywood and although they're not 1:12 scale and may be more of a challenge to decorate, they're really fun to look at. If you're looking for a winter project, this could be the one! Gothic Mansion Fairy Tale Villa Victorian Mansion Assembled Cottage Coraline Doll House Amityville Horror House These kits are like big puzzles to put together- you can see where the pieces snap together. I like that they're a smaller than the usual 1:12 scale though because it's easier to find a place to put one!

Paper Mâché Halloween: Wolf's Folk Art

Lisa Wolf creates Halloween folk art from paper mâché, saw blades, and paper clay. It's quirky and fun and you can find these pieces at Wolf's Folk Art on Etsy. Black Cat Bobble Head Saw Blade Halloween Hex Sign Cat and Pumpkin Hoot Owl Vulture Pumpkin on a Stick I don't think we see enough vultures in Halloween art. They're actually quite unsettling when you see one in real life.
