Tiny Terrors Tuesday: Detta's Darling Dolls

I think one of the hardest things to get right in a dollhouse is the human figures that live there. That's probably why I see so many spooky dollhouses without one. Halloween Linocuts: Karin Rytter Studio

We're less than 100 days away from Halloween! Time flies in quarantine. I made a few quick stops at my local Marshalls and At Home stores to see if they had started putting out any Halloween decor and I was disappointed, but not surprised, to find nothing. Schools start later here than in other parts of the country and stores always wait till after the back-to-school shopping is done to put out the Halloween. Unfair.

If you need to surround yourself with Halloween consider purchasing some Halloween art to get you in the right spirit. Karin Rytter has some sweet Halloween linocuts that fit the bill. I love all the cats in her pieces. The shop is Karin Rytter Studio.

Etched Metal & Tintypes: Of Elsewhere

Spooky Still Lives: Veneration of Light

I discovered Heather Allison's shop Veneration of Light a few weeks ago while shopping at an online art show. I was immediately taken by her photographic still lives. The artist calls her work "an exploration of life, death, light and natural history." I think they're luscious. You'll find one-of-a-kind framed pieces in the shop along with prints and postcards.
