Sinister Paper Works: Day of December

I love the sinister drawings and paper dioramas from Alexandra Guglielmazzi ( a fun name to say aloud) of Day of December . They're sinister-light with lots of witches and spooky scenes. You'll find prints, originals, and even a couple of instant downloads in the shop. Have fun with these! I'm starting to think that our guest bedroom should be filled with lots of creepy bedroom scene art.

Ceramics and Skulls: DeeDee and Shark

Like me, the spirit of Halloween most likely seeps into your everyday life. I'm happy when I find a potter who creates everyday pieces that imbue that spooky vibe. Lara Duren King is the artist behind DeeDee and Shark where you'll find ceramic mugs, bowls, and plates that you can use everyday. Candles for Halloween Displays: Darkness Void

Candles are so important to the expertly designed Halloween decor.  That why I really like the Gothic, witchy candles from Darkness Void . First of all they're made from beeswax which I find sets just the right mood. But most important, the variety of spooky subjects in the shop will fit right in to any scene you're creating.  Set of 5 Witch Fingers Gargoyle Candle Celtic Horned Skull Day of the Dead Catrina Candle Raven  Coffin Candle Haunted House Candle There are over 200 spooky candles in this shop! There is sure to be one for you.

Tiny Terrors Tuesday: Detta's Darling Dolls

I think one of the hardest things to get right in a dollhouse is the human figures that live there. That's probably why I see so many spooky dollhouses without one. If you're working on a haunted dollhouse and are looking for some witches or perhaps a ghost or two, I suggest you take a look at Detta's Darling Dolls on eBay. It's another Tiny Terrors Tuesday! 1/12th Scale Witch in Gingham Dress Headless Lady Ghost Witch in Orange Dress Ghost Children Grim Reaper Nosferatu These 1/12th scale dolls can all be posed in different positions. This is definitely a shop to bookmark.

Halloween Linocuts: Karin Rytter Studio

We're less than 100 days away from Halloween! Time flies in quarantine. I made a few quick stops at my local Marshalls and At Home stores to see if they had started putting out any Halloween decor and I was disappointed, but not surprised, to find nothing. Schools start later here than in other parts of the country and stores always wait till after the back-to-school shopping is done to put out the Halloween. Unfair. If you need to surround yourself with Halloween consider purchasing some Halloween art to get you in the right spirit. Karin Rytter has some sweet Halloween linocuts that fit the bill. I love all the cats in her pieces. The shop is Karin Rytter Studio . Something Wicked Linocut Halloween Kitty Linocut Halloween Jumping Jack Gustav the Cat Toil and Trouble Linocut  Halloween Bunny Witch Moth Girl Find one wall in your home and start filling it with spooky prints and paintings from floor to ceiling. I promise you'll love the results.

Halloween Cats: KilkennyCat Art

It's been a long, long time since we took a look at KilkennyCat Art by Ryan Connors. I've been a fan of her whimspookal cat paintings and ornaments for years. I lost track of the shop after it left Etsy, but recently discovered it had moved to Zibbet. I'm happy to remake our acquaintance! Count Catula Ornament Little Witch in a Pumpkin Original Painting Pumpkin Cat Ornament Halloween Party Cat Original Painting Day of the Dead Skeleton Cat Ornament Skellie Kitty Ornament Connors makes a variety of black cat Halloween ornaments and I'm confident that many more will be added as Halloween approaches.

Etched Metal & Tintypes: Of Elsewhere

Amanda Scheutzow creates fantasy tintype prints that are otherworldly. She adds metal frames that are cut to compliment the prints and the whole affect is terrific. Scheutzow also etches and cuts metal to create jewelry that I think you'll like. The shop is Of Elsewhere .  Tall Fancy Feast Tintype in Frame Early Bird Tintype in Frame Riveted Plague Doctor Necklace Conjoined Twins Necklace Riveted Conjoined Twins Necklace Cat Skull Etched Brooch Cat Claw Stud Earrings We all need that Plague Doctor necklace of course. It's fantastic!

Spooky Still Lives: Veneration of Light

I discovered Heather Allison's shop Veneration of Light a few weeks ago while shopping at an online art show. I was immediately taken by her photographic still lives. The artist calls her work "an exploration of life, death, light and natural history." I think they're luscious. You'll find one-of-a-kind framed pieces in the shop along with prints and postcards.  Templum Enlightenment Untitled 36 Untitled 76 Florere Untitled 62 Each of of Heather Allison's pieces inspire quiet contemplation and meditation.
