The Most Important Saturday of the YEAR

This is a big weekend for collectors of Halloween art.

Two, (2!) Halloween art shows are taking place this Saturday, October 27. On the west coast, All Hallow’s Art Fest takes place in Petaluma, CA from 9AM to 3PM. In the Great Lakes region, Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween in Marshall, MI has an early show from 8AM- 10AM with a higher admission price and general admission from 10AM to 3PM. Click the photos to find more information.

I have been attending Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween for around 6 years. What started as a whim has become an obsession. I could try to explain how it makes me feel like a child again, how I think of it as a night market ruled by fairies (I get in line around before 7AM even though I don’t have to because I’m so excited), or how it leaves me breathless every time, but I just can’t do it justice. You have to make the trip.

If I had a better broom I would try to attend both festivals. It’s a dream of mine. I haven’t actually calculated how long it would take to fly to each of the shows (most likely by airplane) because that is dangerous thinking as my husband would say. Maybe someday though!

If by chance you are going to be attending Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween, please look for me! I’ll be arriving on Thursday to pick up a number to get a good place in line for the early show. You don’t need a number, but it’s part of the fun and a ritual to get one. The number only gets you a better place in line. You might think it doesn’t make a difference where you stand in line, but I’ve seen vendors sell half their booth in the first few minutes. It’s a frenzy and just lends to the excitement and FOMO.

I’ll also be attending the pre-show meet and greet with artists at the EastEnd Gallery in Marshall on Friday from 6:00PM to 7:30PM with my Halloween Art Guide for Spellbound Collectors partner Kristen Stafford of Halloween Art & Travel podcast. If you see us, say hello because we’ll be sharing some brand new Halloween Art Guide stickers. EEK!

I’ll be posting on social media about my trip to Marshall. I hope to see you there!
