I know it's a busy week for many people, but my holiday plans just got canceled and now I'm scrambling for some fun things to do. Maybe I'll read a story or watch a movie based on a death anniversary. By the way, isn't it interesting to know that many horror/spooky films weren't released in October?
Wednesday the 15th
- (1974) Young Frankenstein film released
Thursday the 16th
- (1594) Allison Balfour hanged unjustly for witchcraft in Scotland
Friday the 17th
- (497) Saturnalia celebrated for the first time (Julian Calendar- good luck)
Saturday the 18th
- (1956) A. M. Burrage Death Anniversary (ghost story author)
Sunday the 19th
- Welsh Fairy Tales by Viktor Wynd, online event, 4pm EST
- (1843) A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost Story of Christmas by Charles Dickens published
Monday the 20th
- (1820) John Bell Death Anniversary (Victim of the Bell Witch)
Tuesday the 21st
- Winter Solstice & Yule in the Northern Hemisphere
- Monster of the Month: Elves, online event, 7pm EST
- (2007) Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street film released
It really is interesting - ditto for the fact that a lot of the classic spooky/Halloween songs were not released in October (Thriller, for example, came out in November).
