Our carefully preserved, dead fairy by Leah Clifford sits under a glass dome. She is extremely delicate and my clumsiness has caused her to become slightly disfigured. I can't imagine how Clifford is able to create these little fairies without destroying the fragile butterfly and moth wings she collects. By the way, all of Clifford's wings are humanely sourced. The rest of the figures are made from cicada shells, feathers, clay, and seed pods.
Clifford recommends that the dead fairies shouldn't be fed after midnight and by no means should you taunt them. The shop is
Petite Grotesque. Her shop has many dead fairies available.
These pieces have the perfect balance of creepiness and beauty. I think they make wonderful gifts.
